Jack climbed the beanstalk and saw a beautiful castle. He went inside. Then he heard a loud voice: "Fee! Fi! Fo! Fum!" Jack hid in a cupboard. A huge² giant came in. On the table were a hen³ and a gold harp. The hen laid an egg of gold for the giant and the harp sang a song. The giant fell asleep. Jack took the hen and the harp and ran. But the harp called for help. The giant awoke and chased Jack down the beanstalk.

Explications :
Jack a grimpé sur le haricot géant et a vu un magnifique château. Il est entré à l'intérieur. Puis il a entendu une voix forte : "Fee! Fi! Fo! Fum!" Jack s'est caché dans un placard. Un énorme géant est entré. Sur la table se trouvaient une poule et une harpe en or. La poule pondait un œuf en or pour le géant et la harpe chantait une chanson. Le géant s'est endormi. Jack a pris la poule et la harpe et s'est enfui. Mais la harpe a appelé à l'aide. Le géant s'est réveillé et a poursuivi Jack en bas du haricot
