On se sert du prétérit de l'auxiliaire "do" => did

L'auxiliare étant conjugué, le verbe reprend sa Base verbale (infinitif sans "to")

did + sujet + Base Verbale + ?

sujet + did + not + base verbale   (did + not = didn't)

preterit BE + ING

on conjugue "be" au prétérit et onajoute -ing à la base verbale

(i, he, she, it was / you, we, they were

forme interrogative et négative.

Be étant déjà un auxiliaire, on va procéder à une inversion sujet / be conjugué pour les interrogations

pour les négations, on ajoute simplement "not" à "be"

was/ were + Sujet + BV -ing + ?

sujet + was/were + not+ Base Verbale -ing  (was + not = wasn't/ were + not = weren't)
