Sorry if I make written mistakes, Im french.

- First, you have to find the area of the square :

The perimeter of a square is : 4*side = P

We want the side to know the area so you change the formula of P to have the side :

=> side = P/4 = 24/4 = 6 cm

- Now, we can calculate the area :

The area of a square is : side*side = As

=> As = side*side = 6*6 = 36 cm²

- Now, you can compare the area of the rectangle and square :

The area of a rectangle is : length * width= Ar

We know from the "subject" that As = Ar

so lenght of rectangle * width of rectangle = 36

so 9 * width of rectangle = 36

so width of rectangle = 36/9 = 4 cm
