An entire village was destroyed by a volcanic eruption yesterday afternoon. Mount Sirius, previously believed to be dormant by experts, erupted at 3 pm. Smoke rising from the mouth of the volcano had been observed by tourists two days prior. The villagers were moved away from the area by the police for their own safety. Houses, roads, and trees were wrecked by tons of lava and rock that emerged from the volcano. While only a few people sustained physical injuries from the blast, many are being treated by doctors for shock. The area surrounding Mount Sirius is being kept clear by the authorities in case of further activity.
