Bonjour

Put the verbs into the appropriate form (past simple or continuous):

1) Their marriage  ended over a year ago. (end)

2) When she came back she was carrying a tray of tea and biscuits. (come back/ carry)

Leyana????

3) They first met when they were teenagers. (meet/be)(actions passées terminées)

4) This scheme began in 1985. (begin)

5) She was wearing a jumper which was too small for her. (wear)

si c'est qq chose qu'on était  en train de raconter = past continuous "She was wearing a jumper which was too hot for her"

6) He was sitting with his friends when I saw him. (sit / see)

7) By 1912, millions of Americans went to the national cinemas regularly. (go) adverbe de fréquence = regularly > past simple

8) The little boy fell into the canal while he was playing with his friends. (fall/ play)

...

Les  actions peuvent être eussi simultanées ( actions au past continuous = while she was dancing, he was having a drink) ou au past simple (He jumped  out the window and ran away)
