This theatre district is still very POPULAR today. The GOLDEN age of Broadway musicals lasted from the 1940s to 1860s.This period corresponds with the advent of musical FILMS . In the 1980s and 1990s, the most famous musicals were DISNEY animated films. Live ACTION musical films became successful again at the beginning of the 21st century.
