Hemophilia in the Queen's family "Hemophilia is a disease in which a person's blood fails to clot. The most famous cases of hemophilia are found in the interrelated royal families of Europe. Alexis, the son of the last czar of Russia, inherited it from Queen Victoria, who was the grandmother of his mother Alexandra. Nowadays, hemophilia can be treated. The treatment for hemophilia is called replacement therapy: a more efficient clotting factor is injected into the patient's veins."
